After living in space all her life, a cat lands on a post-apocalyptic planet in search of her parents. After being subjected to the evil which exists on that world, she must decide how to proceed.

There once was a cat. There once was a cat, in space. There once was a cat, in space, named Cat. Cat learned many things as she grew, but she never learned how she knew her name was Cat. She never knew her parents, she never knew anyone while she existed floating in space. Still, somehow, she knew she was named Cat. But how? That was the greatest question of her life, and she devoted her life to solving it.

Lizzie sees time differently. But how does she use this ability?

Metal screamed and glass fragmented backwards through Lizzie’s vision, rushing in upon itself, each shard finding its own place in the windshield of the yellow cab.  Spiderweb cracks through the glass fused and sealed into scratched clarity between the driver and the tattered wipers, choking the off-key trumpet of the car’s horn into silence.  Steam rolled downwards, condensing itself into the radiator.  In the middle of the intersection, the cab skidded backwards and to its right, separating itself from the grill of a city bus easily four times its size.

The frantic grip on Lizzie’s right arm released to point towards the street, its hysterical owner shouting incoherently over the screech of tires.  Lizzie’s body fell away from in front of the woman to stand idly on the street.  From the corner of the walk, an infant stroller flew towards them, glancing off the light pole and jerking to a stop where the retreating yellow cab’s front fender met its bumper.
